Arjun Saraff

   Arjun Saraff is a grade 10 student who resides in Milton, Ontario. A few of his hobbies include soccer, piano, reading, writing, mathematics, robotics, programming, and drawing. Arjun has been attending bhajan classes at SVBF since the age of 3 and has been actively involved in many cultural events held there. He volunteers for SVBF as it gives him an opportunity to give back to the community, stay connected with the culture, and grow as a leader.

Kaavya Hegde

Kaavya

   Kaavya Hegde is a grade 11 student who values our Hindu culture and heritage. Some of her hobbies include Taekwondo, Dance, Piano, Mathematics, Swimming, and Art. Kaavya has been going to SVBF since the age of 3 and attending Bhajan classes, Hanuman Chalisa regularly. She has been actively involved in many cultural activities held at SVBF as well as actively participating in raising funds for breast cancer research. Kaavya is excited to be part of the SVBF-Youth Web Team, as the spirit of service is the heart of humanity. While volunteering, she would like to explore her interests and strengthen her volunteering skills.

Aditya

Aditya Pai

   Aditya Pai is a grade 10 student who attends J.B. Tyrrell SPS. He enjoys drawing, gaming, playing the piano, and creating robotic contraptions with LEGO EV3 (Technic + Motors) as hobbies. His favourite subjects are English and science and technology. Aditya loves dogs and has a pet Goldendoodle named Bubbles. The literatures he prefers are non-fiction and mystery books. Aditya loves helping people in the community, and since he enjoys working with technology, he helped out in OKA’s (Ontario Konkani Association) Senior Tech Workshop.

Uthara

Uthara Balakrishnan

   Uthara Balakrishnan is a 16-year-old, who is a studious and diligent volunteer, and loves serving and giving back to the community of SVBF. She participates in various activities in the temple such as Bagavadh Geetha chanting and Bhajans. Uthara loves music, as she can sing, and play the flute and the keyboard. As well, her hobbies include reading books, painting and listening to music. Uthara is very inquisitive and looks forward to learning new things, and gaining experience while collaborating with her fellow peers!

Uthpala Balakrishnan

   Uthpala Balakrishnan is a 15-year-old volunteer who has been associated with SVBF since 2015. She is passionate about playing the flute, piano, and badminton amongst many others. Uthpala was also recognized with the Youth Volunteer Service Awards presented by the Government of Ontario. She is involved in several extracurricular activities such as HOSA, DECA, Music Council, and Concert Band. Uthpala is currently attending Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute in Scarborough. She looks forward to connecting with other youth and giving back to the community.

Sindhuja

Sinduja Vellanki

   Sindhuja Vellanki is a Grade 11 student at William Lyon Mackenzie CI. She is an aspiring biomedical scientist with a keen interest in playing chess, historical novels, ecological research, and carnatic sangeetham. Sindhuja is a youth volunteer for the Canadian Wildlife Federation, and a member of the Jnana Parampara newsletter team.
